At Lonsdale Palms, we want your stay to be as easy and enjoyable as possible. We’ve gathered the most common questions our guests ask and answered them here, so you can find everything you need to know about booking, staying, and making the most of your visit.

We also believe every guest deserves a relaxing and comfortable stay. Our cottages have been thoughtfully designed to cater to a wide range of accessibility needs so you can focus on enjoying your time in beautiful Point Lonsdale.

What types of accommodation does Lonsdale Palms offer in Point Lonsdale?
At Lonsdale Palms you’ll find three inviting options on Victoria’s Bellarine Peninsula — the spacious Heritage House with four bedrooms and three bathrooms, Ruby Cottage with two bedrooms and two bathrooms, and Jade Cottage with one bedroom. You can book them separately or combine them for a group getaway of up to 16 guests, perfect for families, friends or retreats.

Check-in is from 2pm and check-out is by 10am.We can sometimes arrange an early check-in so please contact us if you will arrive early and we’ll do our best, without any promises.

Should you require a later check-out we will do our best but you need to request that beforehand. If we have guests arriving that day it will be almost impossible to offer a late check-out due to the cleaners needing to prepare for those guests

Yes —You’ll find ample onsite parking for the Heritage House in the driveway on the right hand side of the house. For Ruby Cottage and Jade Cottage use the driveway on the left of the property. Parking for Ruby is parallel to the entrance gate and the carport is for Jade Cottage. Additional parking is available at the front of the house on the nature strip, well off the road.

Lonsdale Palms is just a short stroll to the beach known as The Springs Beach, Point Lonsdale’s stunning bay and surf beaches. The village shops and cafés are close by, and Queenscliff’s restaurants, galleries and attractions are only a few minutes’ drive. Geelong and the Bellarine Peninsula wineries are all in close proximity – check out the link for more information on the Bellarine Taste Trail, including many options for excellent food and drink while you are in the region.

Yes, local buses connect Point Lonsdale with Geelong and Queenscliff, and the nearest train station is in Geelong (about 30 minutes away). Taxis and rideshares are also available.

Yes, complimentary WiFi is provided across all cottages, suitable for browsing, streaming and keeping in touch while you’re away.

We know pets are family too! Well-behaved dogs are welcome. There is a surcharge of $50 per pet. Please bring your own bedding and do not allow them on our furniture. There is a dog “off leash beach” located a short walk from Lonsdale Palms.

 All our cottages are fully self-contained, with gourmet kitchens, gas BBQs, laundry facilities, heating and cooling, and Smart TVs with Netflix. Fresh linen, towels and hairdryers are provided. Free WiFi is available across the property.

Please bring your own towels for the beach.

Yes, all of our accommodations are equipped for year-round comfort:

  • Heritage House features hydronic heating and ducted air conditioning in every room, plus a gas fireplace that adds warmth and a cosy glow in the cooler months.
  • Ruby Cottage has split-system heating and cooling, with sunny decks that invite fresh air and natural light.
  • Jade Cottage is fully climate-controlled with split-system heating and cooling, thoughtfully designed for comfort and accessibility in every season.

Absolutely. Lonsdale Palms is ideal for family reunions, milestone birthdays, girls’ weekends, and other small get-togethers. Our unique setup allows everyone to come together for shared meals and celebrations in the spacious Heritage House, while the adjoining Ruby and Jade Cottages provide quiet retreats when a little privacy is preferred.

While our property is designed for accommodation rather than large-scale events, we understand that guests may occasionally wish to invite a few additional visitors to share in special moments. We simply ask that this is done thoughtfully, with respect for both the property and the neighbourhood.

If you’d like to make your gathering extra special, we can recommend wonderful local providers for catering, platters, or dinner menus delivered directly to the property. Contact us to let us know how what you’re looking for.

Every stay includes self-contained kitchens, BBQs, laundry facilities, outdoor areas and private bathrooms. Ruby and Jade Cottages have accessible bathrooms, and the Heritage House offers large dining and living spaces for groups.

Yes, accessibility is a big part of who we are. Our Heritage House, Ruby Cottage and Jade Cottage are all step-free ramps at the entrances, with roll-in bathrooms, wide doorways and easy access throughout. Other features include: bathrooms have grab rails, hand held showers, shower chairs and a raised toilet seat with handles, to support guests with mobility needs.

There is stair free access to the Heritage House, Ruby Cottage and Jade Cottage.

Yes. Accessible parking is located close to the entrance with a clear, level path to each cottage.

Absolutely. Lonsdale Palms is pet-friendly, and registered assistance animals are always welcome.

Jade Cottage is the most suitable for wheelchair users and those with mobility challenges. It’s designed for independent use and offers easy access throughout.

Yes. All cottages are self-contained and ideal for guests travelling with carers, friends, or family members.

Yes. Ruby and Jade Cottages include a fully accessible bathroom with a roll-in shower, grab rails, and a shower chair. The Heritage House also has a spacious, accessible ensuite suitable for guests with limited mobility.

Yes. If your plans change, contact us as soon as possible and we’ll do our best to move your stay to another available date. Rate differences may apply.

For direct bookings our cancellation policy is:

  • More than 30 days before arrival: Full refund
  • 15–30 days before arrival: 50% refund
  • Within 14 days: No refund unless we can rebook your stay

During December–January and public holiday weekends:

  • More than 60 days before arrival: Full refund if rebooked (less a 10% admin fee)
  • Within 60 days: No refund unless rebooked (less a 10% admin fee)

We always try to rebook when possible, especially during quieter times. If your plans change, contact us as soon as possible and we’ll see what we can do.

Airbnb’s cancellation policy applies to your booking if you booked through them. However, if something unexpected comes up, please reach out. We’ll always try to find a fair solution within Airbnb’s rules.
